Project Updates
This page shares key updates on some of the core projects I’m working on.
If something here resonates, or there’s an issue you’d like raised, I’m always open to hearing from you.

One message from Clayton residents and traders has been consistent — the SRL road closures are disruptive and difficult to navigate.
I’ve raised these concerns directly with the SRL Authority and will continue pushing for mitigation that puts local access, safety, and business viability first. As plans evolve, I’ll keep sharing what I’m seeing and where I think we need to push harder.

Parking pressure in Clayton continues to be one of the most raised issues with me, particularly around the Cooke Street car park.
I’ve lodged advocacy with VicRoads and submitted budget bids focused on improving access and functionality in this area. My focus is on practical, near-term improvements while longer-term planning continues around the broader precinct.
I’ll keep pushing for solutions that work for locals, traders, and visitors — and keep sharing progress as it develops.

The SRL Authority has now released its draft precinct plan for Clayton, proposing significant change within the area surrounding of the new station.
The plan includes major expansion of health industries, increased high-rise development, and thousands of additional dwellings. Together, these changes would dramatically reshape the area.
My role is to ensure growth is balanced, infrastructure keeps pace, and the voices of local residents and traders are not lost in the process. I’ll continue to scrutinise these plans closely and advocate for outcomes that put community first.
Huntingdale shopping precinct is also a key area to improve and I have achieved funding to assist with development of the shopping strip. -
During the election, I committed to delivering tangible outcomes for local centres — and I’m proud to have secured 2025/26 budget for streetscape design in the Huntingdale activity centre.
This funding will support planning for footpaths, vegetation, and landscaping, responding directly to concerns raised by locals and traders. It’s an important step toward revitalising the area and improving everyday amenity.
Turning community feedback into real investment is exactly what this role should do.

I’ve taken a firm position on proposed development at the Talbot Quarry in South Oakleigh.
Before any residential development proceeds, council must be satisfied that safety, remediation, and long-term site standards are properly addressed. I’ve ensured these concerns were clearly raised and that stronger safeguards were required.
Protecting community safety isn’t optional — it’s fundamental.

It’s been encouraging to see the delivery of two important early childhood facilities in Banksia Ward — a new child and family hub in South Oakleigh and a kindergarten in Ward Avenue.
These modern, inclusive spaces give families the best possible start and reflect the kind of community infrastructure we should continue investing in.
Alongside this, my work as Chair of the Monash Disability, Youth Committees and LGBTQI advisory committee continues. This work reinforces how much strength and insight exists within our community. Supporting inclusion isn’t a side issue — it’s central to good local government.
